How to look all glowy even when life sucks.

Full disclosure: I did not learn to use a curling iron til I was 35, nor did I really use make up until after that either (except if you count my unfortunate use of purple eye shadow once in college....).

What happened at 35? I became a widow and DAMN IT I wanted to do something that made me feel pretty. So I discovered make up and really great (but inexpensive!) skin care.

In the past decade my skin really has just gotten better. I'm not sure if it's the breast cancer drugs or the moisture from crying so much (I kid. I kid!), but damn sometimes my skins looks all glowy. And no, I'm not prego. LOL {Insert laughing so hard I'm crying emoji here).

Here's my list of favorites (and they are affiliate links, so I'll get a portion of the proceeds if you purchase them):

CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser - I got rid of all of my 3x's the price cleansers after I used this. It's amazing - even after ice fishing all day.

CeraVe Body and Face Moisturizer - The BEST moisturizer I have ever used. Ever. And I have used some stupidly expensive stuff. I use it all over my mastectomy scars as well, and it has been fantastic for rebuilding those areas. Unfortunately, there is no SPF, so I do use a tinted CC cream over it on my face.

CeraVe Eye Cream - Notice a trend? I looooove CeraVe. Pretty much everything they make is fantastic!

The Ordinary Retinol - I use a stronger retinol than I did at the beginning, so proceed with this slowly! Start out with a weaker one than the one I am linking to (The Ordinary makes some others). I use it every night under the CeraVe.

The Ordinary Hydrolaunic Acid - using this every morning before my moisturizer has been where I have seen the most change! I make sure to apply to a damp face to lock in the moisture. I spray one of these on first - and it smells AMAZING! I also kept those sprays in my bag during my mastectomy recovering. I couldn't shower - but damn I felt like a new person :).

These 3 are expensive, in my opinion, but WAY worth it:

Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser - most mornings.

Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque - I use this once a week.

Tarte Knock Out - I use this once a week and skip the retinol that night. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS. If you have sensitive skin, it will burn. I have linked to a travel size if you want to try it.

Have questions? Let me know!
